Why Custom Electric?
New services will cover electric vehicles, solar panels and more
Many of our existing customers have been hearing about Custom Electric and have already been requesting quotations, with home electric vehicle car charging points and solar – or photovoltaic – panels proving to be an in-demand service.
Nevertheless, Custom Electric engineers are certified to undertake all electrical related works, from replacing wiring, plug sockets and light fittings to installing security systems, electric ovens and air conditioning.
What areas will Custom Electric serve?
Currently, Custom Electric’s engineers are serving customers based in Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. Over time, the company will expand into Birmingham, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
Our Managing Director, Lincoln Smith, says: “The growth of Custom Heat in recent years has exceeded my expectations, but it is evident that we tick all the boxes for people. So with that solid foundation, we thought why not offer that same experience in another important service sector with Custom Electric.”
“People can book easily online, they can get same day or next day appointments, they get all the expert advice they need and the professionals visiting their home or business are polite, tidy and do the job right first time.”
“There has always been an element of electrical work within heating services but it’s becoming more prevalent with renewable heating systems. The Custom Group can now coordinate and undertake any complex job as well as take care of smaller electrical jobs, such as changing fittings, sockets and switches.”
Creating jobs in the local area
We’re currently serving customers with four electrical engineers and working with a long-term trusted subcontractor. A further five jobs are expected to be created over the next six months.
Apprenticeships in the pipeline
We’re also passionate about finding new talent, which is why we are on the lookout for young people wanting to take the apprenticeship qualification pathway. Lincoln explains: “We target having 10 to 12 per cent of our workforce at Custom Heat as apprentices and this is a successful model I want to replicate at Custom Electric. Young people need firms to create opportunities and trades with aging workforces need to futureproof.
Calling qualified electricians
“Nine new jobs will be created in the first six months of our new electrical business that offers all types of installation, repair and equipment services, but due to the current climate we have been cautious in our forecasting. Should our loyal Custom Heat customers – who are based right across the Midlands and into the Cotswolds – get behind Custom Electric, I expect we’ll be recruiting at a much faster rate. Any qualified electricians looking for a new challenge, should certainly get in touch.”
